Lighting, Heating and Humidity for the Leopard Gecko

Lighting

Leopard Geckos are nocturnal, meaning they are only active at night. They require no special lighting or use of expensive UV bulbs. To view them at night youy can use either a red or blue bulb of about 25 watts. This emits enough light for you to see them but they cannot see the colored light and do not feel threatened.

Heating

Daytime temperatures should be around 88 to 92 degrees. Nighttime temperatures should go no lower than the low 70's.

Humidity

As Leopard Geckos are found mainly in arid areas of India, Pakistan, and other southern Asian countries, their humidity requirements are minimum. The water bowl and a light misting daily will suffice.
