Lighting, Heating and Humidity for the Blue-Tongue Skink
Lighting
Full spectrum lighting is recommended. If you cannot provide have direct sunlight, then an alternative source of UV lighting is needed. A couple of suggestions are a Vita-Lite or a Zoo-Med Iguana florescnt light bulb. Remember, glass filters out over 40% of the needed UV radiation from the sun. If you plan on using direct sunlight leave a portion of the enclosure shaded so your blue tongue can get out fo the heat. Lighting should be on a 12 hour on and 12 hour off schedule.
Heating
Daytime temperatures shuld be arounf 80 to 85 degrees with a basking spot provided with a temperature aourn 90 to 94 degrees. Nighttime temperatures should go no lower than 72 degrees.
Humidity
Humidity levels should be sufficient with the large water bowl and the humid hide box.
