Feeding Blue-Tongue Skinks
Blue Tonuge skinks are omnivores, eating both plant and animal matter. Their diet should consist of 60% plant matter and 40% animal matter. Many keepers have a nice little recipe that goes as follows: Some frozen mixed vegetables (peas & carrots), other various greens, a small amount of high quality dog food, and some calcium/vitamin suppliment. Put this all together in a food processor and process. Portion this out into meals and you can freeeze it for future use and keep some in the frig for a week. Also offer live foods such as crickets, meal worms, wax worms, and maybe a frozen thawed pinkie mouse for a treat. You can dust the live food weekly with a calcium powder.
